The long-running BBC chilren's series 'Balamory' is set in Tobermory, Isle of Mull. The houses in which the characters 'lived' were painted in the bright colours typical of the Tobermory sea front for filming. Although the exterior scenes were filmed in Tobermory, the interiors were shot in a Glasgow studio. Now that filming has finished the houses are reverting to their previous colours.
